10-13-25   THOUGHTS
Though he was a king, David’s life was filled with hurt and pain and reason to grieve.  We are not kings, but I’m guessing we identify with the other part.  The psalms are filled with David seeking God as his rock as he poured out his heart to his God!  Key words below:  silence, rock, stronghold, hope, salvation, GLORY REST, refuge, trust.   God seeks relationship with us.  Nothing could be more valuable in our seeking Him than our learning to “POUR OUT OUR HEARTS TO HIM!”  Waiting silently might be a start?  Much can be learned from reading the psalms.   Jas 4:8a  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Ps 62:1-8    My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.  2  He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.  3  How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?  4  They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah.   5  My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.  6  He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.  7  On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.  8   Trust in Him at all times, O people;
Pour out your heart before Him;   God is a refuge for us.

Our Prayer:
Teach us, O  God, to pour out our hearts before You!  Help us to learn a powerful waiting for You.  Surely, O God, You only are our rock and salvation and stronghold.  May our hope and trust in You flourish as we flee to You as our refuge.  In the midst of the difficulties of our lives,  thank You, O God,  for being our hiding place and our rock.  May we lift up Your great name as we walk through this day.  We pray in Jesus,    Amen.
